The Griswolds get married… In Spartanburg!

I’m sure the groom gets tired of it, and now the bride is going to share the pain… Yes, they now both share the last name Griswold. And even though anyone born after 1985 probably doesn’t know who the National Lampoons reference, this new happy couple is sure to continue bringing the laughs. The Griswolds are actually friends of mine and I felt more like I was apart of the crowd instead of holding a camera and catching crucial moments. No cats or dogs were harmed in the making of this wedding… Looking forward to the first Christmas!

Who wants to meet a couple that has defined all odds? A man that has looked death in the face and refused to blink. Battled over eight brain surgeries and diagnoses that labeled him everything from comatose to permanently disabled… and a loving wife that has stuck by his side no matter what?

They may look familiar. They were featured on a touching episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in February 2011. Patrick was involved in the tragic terrorist shooting at Ft. Hood, but hung to life, and defied all odds to see what you see today; walking, talking, joking, and smoking cigars at his wedding, to marry his beautiful bride Jessica. ABC’s Extreme Makeover threw Patrick and Jessica a surprise wedding during the show, but this wedding in Rochester, MN was what they had planned from the beginning. A more personal, less public wedding with familiar faces and family. A truly humbling experience to document this special day, and meet such inspirational people.

I had the pleasure to shoot alongside my good friend Ben Sassani yet again. A master behind the lens, who also documented the original Extreme Makeover episode. So if you’re ever in the eastern Texas hemisphere, give Ben a ring!

The many faces of Kylie Hinze

Introducing Kylie Hinze (pronounced Hin-zee), the next country singer/songwriter superstar. I don’t use those words lightly. This girl is TALENTED! It’s rare to run into somebody that is so mature and gifted at the young age of 14. That’s a 1 and a 4. I had the pleasure to shoot B-roll during her first music video shoot. It was unusual, but relaxing to take the back seat at a shoot. I had to constantly pinch myself not to nudge in and give my opinions.

To know Kylie, is to know many, many (many) faces. Her vocal range is almost as wide as her numerous facial expressions. It’s impossible to see her smile and not smile back, and hopeless not to laugh when she makes a funny face, or tell a bad “Yo momma so fat” joke. In my opinion a star needs to be 1. talented, and 2. able to deal with pressure. Kylie has both. I wish her and her family lots of good luck. Looking forward to seeing Kylie headline the Superbowl halftime show!

This time my camera takes me a bit up north to Chicago, IL. Fortunately this time of year is the perfect weather; 70º and not a cloud in the sky! The night before Ben Sassani and I visited the John Hancock building to see the sights, but it was nothing in comparison to the sights and smiles seen at the wedding. Congratulations to the new Midwest couple!

Kaci – Swamp Rabbit Trail Bridal Session, Greeenville, SC

Today I took Kaci and her supporting family to the Swamp Rabbit Trail north of downtown Greenville, SC. Not the most appealing name for a bridal photoshoot, but I assure you it is a beautiful trail. Thankfully the weather agreed with us and got some very nice sunset shots of Kaci on the trail, and in the busy downtown of Greenville, SC.

The Rodak Family

Christmas Eve seems like so long ago especially considering the crazy fluctuating weather, but it wasn’t too long ago that the Rodak family was in front of my lens! Christmas brings families together, so what better time to take pictures? I grabbed the usual family photo, and then focused on the kids playing as the sun went down. A very nice, inviting, and friendly family. If I didn’t have to leave so soon to go to church that day I would of loved to of stuck around and share a drink.

Special Delivery! Moo Cards

Hello USPS man, thanks for the BIG box from moo.com today! I’ve used them before for business cards and the results were outstanding, not to mention even greater customer service. The big idea with moo cards is you’re able to get up to 50 different cards in one order rather than 1 single card duplicated 500-1000 times. That’s their claim to fame, but they also have other cool little goodies to go along with their cards.

Do you realize how hard it was for me to take a picture of my box of goodies???.. instead of ripping open the package as soon as it was delivered to the door?

Merry late Christmas to me! Moo does a great job with their packaging. So neat I almost don’t want to mess it up. HA

Sprawled out on the floor, each card is different! The back (white information card in the middle) is the only thing that stays the same. Such a clever concept.

From left to right: Regular business cards, mini moo cards with holders, and stickers!… yes I went a little overboard I know.

I LOVE the stickers. I already branded my new Lenovo laptop, and Abby got one too… she wasn’t too thrilled. But then I petted her and all was forgiven.

The Pryor Family

“Now Clint, Hugh and James are a little crazy, it might be tough to calm them down for the camera” I hear before going over to the Pryor’s house. “What? naaah, not a problem, I thrive off of energy!” Turns out one kid was super hyper, and the younger guy was pretty chill to the max. So therefore emotions were all over the place! We pretty much just let the kids run loose as I snapped away at them playing… sometimes nice, sometimes not so nice lol. In the end we got a lot of great shots and one for their annual Christmas card. Happy Holidays everybody!

Wedding Dress – Nataliya

Once again the amazing Nataliya, Stacy Linder, Carolina Soma and I work together to show off an amazing wedding dress in Greenville, SC, but this time in a more natural setting instead of the city. The tall and beautiful Nataliya plus the elegant dress provided by Carolina made my job ridiculously easy. This was also the first time that my sister assisted me on a shoot, and she can’t wait to do more! I don’t mind, free help! Thanks sis!
